About Me
I began my career in financial services in August 1994, ultimately working at two large fund management companies in the United Kingdom (Scotland and London). In 2002, I joined the sell-side research arm of a large American investment bank in Hong Kong before progressing to wealth management in 2007 (ultimately, working for two private banks here).
It is in wealth management where my career really developed. This I attribute to many reasons including, in terms of:
- the clients I advised (i.e. successful individuals)
- the people I worked with (i.e. access to some of the smartest professionals in the industry)
- geographies (i.e. initially my expertise was in Asia which subsequently morphed towards rest of the world) and,
- asset classes (i.e. extending my knowledge from Asia ex-Japan equities to global ones and into other asset classes such as fixed income, alternative investments, commodities and foreign exchange).
Holistically, this combination and experience lead me to - what I believe is - a simpler process, one which can ultimately result in improved investment outcomes.

A Shift In The Balance
In December 2017, I left my role as a Chief Investment Strategist at an award winning, and highly-respected European private bank (one which prides itself on its client-focus and investment approach). Although my six and a half years there were extremely rewarding, I increasingly found myself wanting to redress my work-life balance (which had become more skewed towards the former).
Early retirement became a possibility and after two years of extensively researching the topic and assessing my financial situation, I took the decision to exit the industry (at the age of 47 years). Although I miss the daily interaction with my former work colleagues, my retirement experience has been extremely positive, rewarding and life changing.
Wealth Coaching
Now in retirement I have the freedom to explore and pursue opportunities that are important to me. Corry Wealth Coaching gives me additional purpose and helps me address the replication of an employer income, daily structure and most importantly for me, the social interaction with others.
My guidance and recent experiences will benefit those seeking greater financial security, financial freedom, and ultimately a more rewarding lifestyle.
